The Rose Main Reading Room at the New York Public Library. It's free to walk in. Every time I visit I come home wanting to redesign our own building, which is very much not in my job description.

A train from Lisbon to Porto, with a book I'd been putting off for years. I missed the view entirely.

The lobby of a closed-down cinema in my hometown, while I was working there at seventeen.

A bench at a dark-sky site, with a red headlamp. It's hard on the eyes and I'd do it again.
